According to Ayurveda, there are three biological elements/doshas present in our body; vata, pitta and kapha which should be in balance. Because of the above said causative factors three doshas get vitiated causing weak or impaired digestive fire. Impaired digestive fire produces toxins(ama) that spread to the entire body affecting the twak(skin), rakta(blood), mamsa (muscle), lymph and produces the following symptoms which can be different for each individual.

Treatment

Treatment protocol aims at:

  1. Treating inflammation of the skin and maintaining normal texture of the skin.
  2. Prevent recurrence by healing and repairing the tissue.
  3. Regular intake of supplements can help in long term relief and rejuvenating the whole body.

The first line of treatment should always be avoiding the causative factors. If the problem persists then consider the following treatment protocol.

  • Skin itching and red patches, Silvery scales or plaques  - all these skin conditions  are as a result of overreaction of the immune system with skin cells. Avipattikar churna, Bibhitaki, Aragvadha,  Khadira, Sariva, Manjistha, Kaishora guggulu, Nimba, Arogyavardhini vati will normalise the immune response by purifying the blood and body channels from toxins (ama), also helps to heal and repair of skin cells.
  • Dry cracked, Burning skin and Joint stiffness - Extreme dryness in the body as a result of inflammation and the immune triggers new cells to form and  also causes swollen stiff joints and pitted nails. Panchatiktaghruta guggulu regulates the immune system, reducing inflammation and dryness.
