Overview

Bone disease is a condition that damages the skeleton and makes bones weak and prone to fractures.

Joint disease is caused by inflammation which may be variously short-lived or exceedingly chronic, agonizingly painful or merely nagging and uncomfortable; they may be confined to one joint or affect multiple joints.

Without proper treatment, bone and joint conditions can lead to chronic pain and disability.

Symptoms

  • Pain and swelling in joints

  • Loss of function and mobility
  • Stiffness in the morning ,which lasts more than 1 hr
  • Fracture
  • Postural Changes.

  1. Consuming too much cold, dry, rough, unctuous, pungent, astringent and bitter substances.
  2.  Excess consumption of raw foods
  3.  Excessive travelling
  4.  Excess physical activity
  5.  Suppression of natural urges . (Involuntary functions )
  6. Irregular diet habits
  7. Sleep disturbances
  8. Stress
  9. Sedentary lifestyle - leading to low metabolism and weakened digestive system

According to Ayurveda there are three elements present in our body : vata pitta and kapha which should be in balance. All the above factors cause imbalance in these elements and build up of Ama (toxins) in the body, which spreads to the joints, muscles and cartilage causes swelling and pain in the area of joints of hands, feet, ankles, elbows, lower back, knee and hip. Ama also disrupts the bone metabolism and causes bone deformities or diseases.
