Stye is a red, painful lump near the edge of the eyelid that may look like a boil or pimple.

According to Ayurveda, sty can be correlated with “ kumbhika”.
The bacterium staphylococcus is commonly responsible for most of these infections.
Predisposing factors
Styes occur when the oil glands in the eye become inflamed due to infection producing pain, swelling and tenderness in the eyelid. As a result of infection sometimes the outer layer of the eye ball also gets affected and shows symptoms like watery eyes and redness.
Stye usually go away on their own without the need of any medicine and supervention if proper hygiene and care is taken.
