Palmtherapy is a relatively new phenomenon, invented in 1985 by the Israeli born Moshe Zwang. Palmtherapy is used to alleviate emotional suffering such as depression, anxiety, phobias and other afflictions. A palmtherapist accomplishes this by stimulating areas of the hands that are connected through energy paths to the brain. Palmtherapy is different from hand reflexology, which focuses mostly on the physical well being of the patient. Palmtherapy is concerned with the patient's mental state.
